AMAZON STATE CAMPS

Camp: El Caimán del Orinoco
* Location
17 km. from the small town of Soledad, in the northern bank of the Orinoco river.
* How to get there
By air or land to Ciudad Bolívar. Then by road following via Soledad-Carapa.
* Characteristics
Savanna landscape, with Xerofitica vegetation and full of cashew trees everywhere. As it is near the river you can have trips in curiara (indigenous boat) and walks along the bank. There are organized excursions for looking at fauna and flora typical of the region. Ciudad Bolívar is 45 minutes away and it is a good point to take a plane and go south of Bolívar state and visit some attractive spots in the Gran Sabana (Great Savan-na). Price includes lodging, three meals and an excursion.
* Recomendations
Adequate clothing for the zone, sport shoes, hat or cap, long sleeved shirt, long pants, bathing suit, sunglasses, camera, binoculars, sun shade and repellent.
* Facilities
This original camp is the only one in this isolated region, located in the puddle area of the Orinoco, in front of the Laguna de la Piña. It has 32 double rooms, churuata (indigenous
structure) style, arranged in 16 units. Individual baths, electricity 24 hours, ceiling fans, decorative thatched ceilings, windows with wire nettings, bar-restaurant.

Camp: Hato Nuevo
* Location
Near San Mateo, in the way to El Carito. In the northern side of the western plains.
* How to get there
By land to the bridge at San Mateo, then turning right following the route to El Carito.
* Characteristics
In this place you will find all the comforts of a hotel. It is an isolated place, ideal for resting and taking a break from urban noise. It is an oasis within the
solitude that marks the landscape.
* Recomendations
Adequate clothing for the zone, sport shoes, hat or cap, long sleeved shirt, long pants, bathing suit, sunglasses, camera, binoculars, sun shade and
repellent.
* Facilities
More than a camp, this is a comfortable and isolated hotel, far away from almost everything, especially for those who do not want to be seen or disturbed. It
consists of 39 comfortable rooms, with air conditioning, optional TV, private bath, hot water,
pool, horses, mini-zoo, tennis and ³bolas criollas² (Venezuelan game) courts, green areas, etc.
